Founder
PolynesianBnB was founded by Kristen Mae — a mother of six, designer, and entrepreneur inspired by the beauty, traditions, and natural elements of the Pacific.
What began as a personal desire to see Polynesian-inspired design reflected in everyday pieces has grown into a lifestyle brand centered on connection, meaning, and the spaces we create around us.
Building PolynesianBnB has been a journey of growth, learning, and commitment — shaped by a deep belief in creating something meaningful, not only for today, but for the future.
🌺 Connection to our logo
At the heart of who we are is home and family.
The PolynesianBnB logo was inspired by a handcrafted replica my father brought back from his final visit to Sāmoa — a piece that I keep close to his picture on my desk.
Its structure reflects the form of a traditional home, where each element holds purpose. The pillars represent my six children — a foundation of strength, support, and purpose. The lashing that binds the structure speaks to connection — the ties that hold everything together, yet sometimes go unnoticed. The symbol of a humble home — a roof that shelters and protects all those it covers. It represents years past and years to come, the stories told beneath it, the memories made, meals prepared, moments of joy, growth, and the quiet sense of protection that makes a space feel like home.
Subtle elements within the design draw from the sogaimiti, honoring identity, legacy, and the stories carried forward through generations...a rite of passage that bestows the privilege to honor tradition, culture, and legacy.
This is more than a logo — it is a reflection of what PolynesianBnB stands for: family, foundation, and the intention to build something meaningful that endures.
